Tokyo Olympics: Chirag - Satwik wins last Badminton doubles game but failed to qualify for Quarters

The Indian men's doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty defeated England's Ben Lane and Sean Vendy in the final game of Group A but failed to reach the quarterfinals at the Tokyo Olympics on Tuesday.

Ranked 10th in the world, the Indians played a 44-minute men's doubles match in Group A at Musashino Forest Plaza, defeating the 18th-ranked team in the world 21-17 21-19.

However, Satwik and Chirag won the match, but the victory of Chinese Taipei's Lee Yang and Wang Chi-Lin meant that the Indian pair could not make it to the quarterfinals.

The Chinese Taipei combination Lee Yang and Wang Chi-Lin defeated World No. 1 Marcus Gideon and Kevin Sukamuljo (Indonesia)  – which means that now it is almost impossible for the Indians to reach the quarterfinals.

Kudos to Men's Doubles pair of Satwik Sairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty on winning the match against Team Great Britain 2-0.
