Shiva Thapa is one of the prominent Indian boxers who have actively participated in several national as well as international boxing events. He is the youngest Indian boxer who qualified for the Olympic event.
Some of his career achievements:
2019 - Bagged a gold medal by defeating Kazakhstan’s Sanatali Toltayev in a Tokyo Olympic test event. The same year, he also won a bronze medal in Lightweight category at the Bangkok Asian Amateur Boxing Championship.
2017 - He earned a silver medal in Bantamweight category at the Tashkent Asian Championship.
2015 - Shiva won a bronze medal at the World Amateur Championship, participating in the Bantamweight category. The same year, he bagged another bronze medal in Bantamweight category at the Bangkok Asian Amateur Boxing Championship.
2013 - He bagged a goldmedal at the Asian Confederation Boxing Championship, being the youngest Indian to do so. The same year, he has been bestowed with the "ICC Sports Excellence Award" for his astounding performance in boxing.
2010 - At the Youth Olympic Games which took place in Singapore, Thapa secured a silver medal in the Bantamweight category.
2009 - He participated in the Junior World Boxing Championship which was held in Armenia, being the only boxer who gained an international medal at the event.
2008 - He clinched a gold medal at the 'Haider Aliyev Cup' event and bronze at the ‘Children Asia International Sports Games'.
