Born on 1st October 1970, Moses Kiptanui is a middle and long distance athlete who represents Kenya. He is the first man to finish 3000m Steeplechase in less than 8 minutes.

He won gold medals in the 3000m steeplechase at the World Championships in Athletics, held in Tokyo in 1991, Stuttgart in 1993 and Gothenburg in 1995.
