Born on 3rd September 1990 in Uttar Pradesh; Mohammed Shami Ahmed is an international right-arm fast-medium bowler. He is also specialised in the reverse swing that made him one of the versatile bowlers of the Indian Cricket team.
Took impressive 28 wickets at 21.35 in five matches of 2012-13 Ranji Trophy that also included two 10-wicket hauls against the teams of Madhya Pradesh and Hyderabad.
Made his ODI debut in January 2013 playing against the team of Pakistan and contributed 9-4-23-1 in a 10-run win. With this, Shami became the first Indian and the eighth bowler to bowl four or more maiden overs on an ODI debut.
Shami was awarded the Man of the Match after finishing the match with 8-2-35-3 against West Indies during the World Cup 2015.
Became the fastest Indian bowler to reach the mark of 100 ODI wickets on 23rd January 2019 during India tour of New Zealand.
