Born on 18th April 1987, in New York, Matthew John Anderson is a prominent volleyball player of the United States men's national volleyball team. He also plays for the Russian club Zenit Kazan.

- Was part of the U.S. volleyball team that earned a bronze medal at the Rio Olympics in 2016
- Bagged a gold medal at the FIVB Volleyball men's World Cup, held in 2015 in Japan
- Clinched a gold, silver and bronze medal at the FIVB World League, held in 2014, 2012 and 2015, respectively
- Dominated the Pan American Cup of the year 2008 that convened in Winnipeg
- Secured second position at the NORCECA Championship of the year 2011. After two years, he played a crucial role in winning the championship.
