Leslie Walter Claudius was born on 25th March 1927. He was an Indian field hockey player from Bilaspur.
His Achievements:-
- Won gold medals at the Summer Olympic Games of 1948, 1952 and 1956
- Bagged a silver medal at the 1960 Olympic Games held in Rome
- Earned a silver medal at the 1958 Asian Games held in Tokyo
- Bestowed with the prestigious civilian award "Padma Shri" in 1971
- Received the Bharat Gaurav Award instituted by East Bengal Club from the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee, in 2011
- Awarded the “Banga Bibhushan" in 2012
