Anju Jain, a former Indian cricketer, was born on 11th August 1974, in New Delhi, India. She has represented India in 8 Test cricket matches and 65 One Day International (ODI) matches. At present, she coaches the Assam team.
She is the only player to have played in consecutive fourWorld Cups.
At the Cricinfo Women’s Cricket World Cup which was held in New Zealand in the year 2000, Anju captained 8 ODI matches of the tournament where the Indian team advanced to Semifinals before losing to New Zealand.
Anju was honored with the prestigious "Arjuna Award" in the year 2005 for her remarkable sporting achievements.
She was named the "Best Sportswoman of the Year" in 2005.
