Crypto.com Arena, formerly known as STAPLES Center, is a prominent multi-purpose indoor arena located in downtown Los Angeles, California, next to the Los Angeles Convention Center. Opened on October 17, 1999, the venue has become one of the city's leading destinations for professional sports, concerts and major entertainment events.
The arena has a flexible configuration that can accommodate different types of events. It has been home to several major professional sports teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers of the NBA, the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA, and the Los Angeles Kings of the NHL. The Clippers moved to their new Intuit Dome in 2024, while the other teams continue to use Crypto.com Arena.
Originally named STAPLES Center, the venue adopted its current name on December 25, 2021, following a 20-year naming-rights agreement between AEG and Crypto.com. Over the years, the arena has also hosted major concerts, boxing matches, award ceremonies and other international sporting events.
Today, Crypto.com Arena remains an important part of the L.A. LIVE entertainment district and is one of the most recognizable indoor arenas in the United States.
