Located in Manchester, England, the AO Arena is one of the busiest indoor arenas in the world. It is situated in air rights space above Manchester Victoria station and hosts both sports events and music concerts. The venue was opened on 15th July 1995 and is owned by Mansford (a private equity real estate firm). It is one of the first stadiums in Europe to be built with a 360°seating layout. The arena was initially called the NYNEX Arena (1995–1998), Manchester Evening News Arena (1998–2011), Phones 4u Arena (2013–2015)
Manchester Arena (2012–2013, 2015–2020). With a capacity of 23,000, Manchester's AO Arena is the UK's second-largest indoor arena by capacity, behind the 23,500-capacity Co-op Live.
The AO Arena is one of the world's busiest indoor venues, hosting major concerts and sporting events, including boxing. It formed part of Manchester's bids for the 1996 and 2000 Olympic Games and later hosted boxing and netball during the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
