Stadion Miejski w Gdańsku, formerly known as Stadion Energa Gdańsk, Baltic Arena and PGE Arena Gdańsk, is a football stadium in Gdańsk region of Poland and located on ul Pokoleń Lechii Gdańsk close to the Baltic Sea in the city. The stadium’s construction was started in 2008 and was completed around mid-2011, costing approximately EUR € 204 million. It is the home stadium of Lechia Gdańsk currently playing in the Ekstraklasa. The Stadium’s capacity of the stands is approx 41,620 spectators, with all seated and roofed. The Stadion Miejski is the second-largest arena in Ekstraklasa and the third-largest stadium in the country after National Stadium and Silesia Stadium.

Trivia

The opening match was ended with a 1–1 draw between Lechia Gdańsk and KS Cracovia.

The stadium will host the much-awaited 2020 UEFA Europa League Final due to UEFA sponsorship regulations.

Significance

The first international match was held between Poland-Germany on 6 September 2011 and finished with 2-2.
The stadium was moreover one of the assigned venues for the finals of UEFA Euro 2012, hosted four matches during the competition, includes three matches in Group C, and one quarterfinal was played at the stadium.
Based on sponsorship agreement with the PGE Group, the official name of the stadium was changed to PGE Arena Gdańsk. The contract finished, however, on 30 September 2015, after PGE chose not to resume the contract. On 9 November Energa was revealed as the new stadium's sponsor.
The Stadion Energa Gdańsk is used mostly for football matches.
