The arena has been built on the site of Tushino Airfield grounds in the far north-west of Moscow.

Otkritie Arena is counted amongst the

Moscow that predominantly hosts football matches and is the home of
FC Spartak Moscow. The stadium was called the
Spartak Stadium during the
2017 Confederations Cup and will be known as same while hosting the
2018 FIFA World Cup matches. The field of the arena is expanded on an area of
105 x 68 m. The architectural design of the arena was presented by

Significance
- The stadium officially opened its gates on 5th September 2014 with a friendly match between Spartak and Red Star (1-1).
