Newcastle Entertainment Centre is located in Newcastle Showground, New South Wales in Australia. It is a multi-purpose arena built in 1991. The construction took one year, and the arena opened its gate to the spectators on 21st June 1992. It is owned by the Venues NSW and operated by the AEG Ogden. This multi-purpose arena has served as the home for the Newcastle Falcons (NBL) from 1992 to 1999. They were the original tenants of the Newcastle Entertainment Centre that moved to the arena from their previous home ground, Broadmeadow Basketball Stadium. It was also the stamping ground for the Hunter Jaegers (CBT) from 1997 to 2008 and the Hunter Pirates (NBL) from 2003 to 2006.
