The Bay Oval is a cricket ground located in Mount Maunganui, Tauranga, in the Bay of Plenty region of New Zealand. The Bay of Plenty Cricket Association built the Bay Oval at Blake Park, beginning the construction in 2005. Blake Park was established in the 1950s. It was used for List A fixtures between 1987/88 season and 2001/02 by Northern Districts, with the team playing 24 matches on the field in the New Zealand limited-overs cricket trophy. Following the creation of the Bay Oval, the women's team of Northern Districts played their first match on this ground in December 2007 and held their first senior men's match in 2008–09 state T20 with North Districts and Otago. Both sides have played regularly on the field, with it hosting its 1st first-class cricket match in April 2015.
The first ODI on the ground was held in January 2014 as part of the 2014 Cricket World Cup qualifier between Canada and the Netherlands. The New Zealand women's team played their first ODI on the field in March 2014 and the same year in October, it hosted the first two ODIs of the New Zealand men's home series against South Africa. Since then, it has been used as a limited-overs venue by New Zealand's male and female sides.
