The European Aquatic Championships is a main continental championship for aquatic sports, held in every two years in Europe. The event is organized by the LEN (Ligue Européenne de Natation), the governing body for Aquatic Sports in Europe. Since 1999, it has been conducting events of swimming, diving, synchronized swimming and open water swimming. The first edition of the event was organized in the year 1926, hosted by Budapest, Hungary. Women began participating from the second championship which was held in 1927.
