This award is bestowed by World Curling Federation (WCF) to a wheelchair curling player who has shown the best sportsmanship in terms of fair play, skill and conduct towards fellow players. The winner is voted by other participants.
World Curling Federation presents this award in honor of late "Elmer Freytag," one of the founders of WCF. It is presented to curlers for their sporting performances or to the builders or individuals who have given distinguished services for the development of curling at the international level.
This award is presented as a tribute to "Collie Campbell," former President of WCF to a player who has shown gentleman spirit and fair play throughout the year in the sport of curling.
This award is named in the honor of "Frances Brodie" who established the first World Women's Curling Championship in 1979 and headed the first Official Ladies Committee of the WCF. It is awarded to a female curler who has best exhibited the traditional curling values of skill, sportsmanship, fair play and honesty.
