The International Paralympic Committee (“IPC”) is a non-profit organization and the world governing body for the Paralympics. The IPC was founded on 22 September 1989 in Düsseldorf, West Germany and is composed of 182 National Paralympic organizations, four international Paralympic organizations, and five regional Paralympic organizations. It is located in Bonn, Germany.
The IPC withholds the responsibility to create sport opportunities for everyone with a disability and organize Para-sports tournaments across the globe. It also organizes the Paralympic Games and functions as the International Federation for nine sports.
