Go-karting racer,11yrs old Shriya Lohia is currently the only Indian Girl to compete in National Rotax Championship India .I developed a passion for driving at the age of 9 yrs old.Trying to make a mark in Indian motorsport.I joined a racing school in Bangalore . Go -kart tracks are around 1.2km long with complex bends and sharp turns. To get a practice on that track I have to go to Banglore and other places smtimes twice a month that is really very hectic .Being always good in studies I am trying to balance between this sport and studies . So I am working hard to achieve my goal.It was a proud moment to be only girl in the championship. All eyes were on me.I finished at the Forth position last year during this championship. This year i bagged second position in JKtyremotosports X30 National karting championship 2019.In Girls on Track 2019 -Dare to be different competion i got First position.I aspires to be a Formula One driver .Go karting appears to be a male dominating sport.I race because I love racing ,not to prove a point about how well a girl can do against boys on track.Once your helmet goes on everybody is at same level. To reach at the top you need to start at the bottom first.I hope It will encourage other girls to take up the sport as well.
