The logs used in a wood chopping competition are the sole property of the organizing committee. They cannot be used for the personal use of the participants or other related person.
The logs used in the competition are measured only by diameters and never by the circumference of girth. The diameters approved for the matches are 250 mm, 275 mm, 300 mm, and 325 mm up to 750 mm.
The competitors are not permitted to test the axe assigned for chopping and sawing inside the match arena.
The participants have to pin their axes with at least 3 mm pin length. It should protrude continuously through the axe head and handle.
If a participant starts cutting their log before the start time, he/she is directly disqualified from the match.
The participants are allowed to follow anti-slabbing precautions such as nailing the end of the log or banding the log's end with wire, tape or strap.
The participants are not allowed to push the chip with the axe's nose.
The participants are disqualified if they touch any part of the chopped scarf by hand or use the blade to push or press a chip within a log.
