Start
The cyclists begin the race in one of the three ways:-
The holders cannot step over the starting line. When the rolling start is used on a track, at least one neutral lap is taken to ensure a fair start. The race begins with a gun or a whistle.
Disqualification
Any rider who appears as a danger to the other riders shall be disqualified. Pushing or pulling among the riders is prohibited in races except the madison; no rider may hold back or pull an opponent.
Finish
A completion of a lap is signaled by the ringing of a bell. A cyclist finishes a race when the front tyre first penetrates the imaginary vertical plane that is perpendicular to the leading edge of the finish line.
Tie
In case of a tie between two or more riders in the first place, then as per the discretion of the referee they may ride either a full or a shorter distance.
