During a serve, the server must have atleast one foot in the service box & must hit the ball to the front wall above the service line.
In "singles" game, when server loses the serve, it passes to the receiver. In "doubles" game, server side gets only one serve until the rally is lost. After that it passes to the opponent side.
After that, each side gets two serves. When the second server of the team loses the serve, the serve goes to the opponent side.
After first game, the winner of previous game serves first in each subsequent game.
Scoring System
A match is the best of five games but sometimes may be the best of three games.
The current official scoring system is Point-A-Rally (PAR) System in which a point is scored for each rally whether the winner is server or returner. Each game is played to 11 points.
A player must win by at least two clear points.
The ‘LET’ Rule
Let is a situation when a rally is replayed. Major situations are-
If any interference occurs
If one player refrains from striking the ball because of a reasonable fear of striking the opponent with the racquet or the ball.
If the receiver is not ready for the serve
If the ball breaks during play
