One of the 15 red balls must be potted first followed by any one of the colored balls then again a red ball followed by a colored ball. This sequence must be followed until the player fails to pot the aimed ball or makes any foul after which the opponent gets the chance to play the next shot. The game continues until all the red balls have been cleared from the table and then all the colored balls must be potted in the order of their value, i.e., yellow worth 2 points, green worth 3 points, brown worth 4 points, blue worth 5 points, pink worth 6 points and black worth 7 points.
Fouls
Any of the rule infringement is known as a foul. After making any foul, the striker loses his turn and concedes points to his opponent in some situations. Some of the acts which are considered as foul are:-
Pocketing the cue ball
Failing to hit the correct ball
Playing out of turn
Striking the ball more than once in a stroke
Striking the ball before all balls are at rest
Forcing a ball off the table
Striking the ball with something other than the cue
