The Palace of Auburn Hills (also known as The Palace) is a multi-purpose sports and entertainment arena, located in the Auburn Hills, a suburb Detroit in the United States of Michigan. It was built with the construction cost of 70 million dollars in a span of two years and finally opened to host sports events on 13th August, 1988. This arena is home to the Detroit Pistons of the National BasketBall Association league team since 1988. The Palace of Auburn Hills initially had 180 luxury suites. In December 2005, five underground suites were added to the arena. The Palace is one of the first modern style arenas that perfectly meet requirements of National Basketball Association. The Palace Sports and Entertainment company has spent over 117.5 million dollars for refurbishments since the inauguration of the arena. The impeccable design of the Palace of Auburn Hills has been an inspiration for several other professional arenas in the Northern America including the Canadian Tire Centre, located in Ottawa, Canada.
