Rostec Arena Located in Oktyabrsky Island in the Pregolya River, Kaliningrad, this stadium is also known as Kaliningrad Stadium. It is a two-tier stadium, equipped with ultra-modern security systems. It is the home ground of FC Baltika Kaliningrad. The venue was constructed in 2018. The venue hosted four matches of FIFA World Cup. Since its opening, it has served as the home ground of FC Baltika Kaliningrad that competes in Russian Football National League, taking over from the city's former Baltika Stadium. The stadium adopted the name Rostec Arena in August 2023.
Trivia
During the excavations, some remains of the pre-war buildings were found that were not mentioned on the topographic survey.
Significance
The construction work to build this stadium started in 2015 and took three years to be built. Initially, the project aimed to build the stadium with a retractable roof, having the capacity of 45,000 but after some alterations in the project design, it was constructed in much simpler design.
The stadium hosted its first match on 11th April 2018 between FC Baltika and Krylia Sovetov in which the former won by 1-0.
