Located in Chelmsford, Essex, the County Cricket Ground is home to the Essex County cricket club. It has also been referred to as the 'Fortress Chelmsford'. The arena has a double-decker seating area along with executive suites and marquees. The Ford Motor Company had the naming rights of the ground from 2005 to 2013.

Trivia

Earlier, the slope area of the field from the south-east to the north-west was used as the helicopter landing place until the casualty department was built there.

Significance

From 2005 to 2008, this ground has been primarily used for Twenty20 and Friends Provident Trophy games.
England batsman Graham Gooch had scored most of the first-class runs of his career at this ground.
Former batsman Graham Richard Napier scored 152 off 58 balls against Sussex at the Twenty20 match on 24 June 2008.
