Located in Denver in Colorado, Ball Arena, formerly known as Pepsi Center, is a multi-purpose arena. The venue is the home ground of the Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association (NBA) since its opening year 1999. There is a basketball practice facility within the arena, used by the Denver Nuggets. The arena opened its gate to the spectators in October 1999 after a span of two years of construction with an expenditure of $269 million dollars. It also serves as the concert venue of the city when sports events are not held. A Celine Dion concert was held here to mark the completion of its construction.

Trivia

PepsiCo is the chief corporate sponsor of the venue and hence the stadium has been named after it.

Significance

The 2001 Stanley Cup Finals and the 2001 NHL All-Star Game took place at the stadium.
From 2002 to 2006, the Centrix Financial Grand Prix of Denver has been held in the venue’s parking lot.
The 2005 NBA All-Star Game was also hosted at this venue.
In March 2007, the venue hosted the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Men's ice hockey tournament, called the Frozen Four West Regional. The same year, it hosted the International Convention and Contests of the Barbershop Harmony Society, which was a men’s singing competition.
The stadium hosted the "UFC 135" in 2011 and the "UFC 150" in 2012.
The venue was constructed as a part of a large sporting venue upgraded in Denver.
NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament was held at this venue in 2004, 2008 and 2011. While in 2012, the stadium hosted NCAA Women's Basketball Final Four.
Ball Arena was the arena where Mountain West Conference men's basketball tournaments were held from 2004 to 2006 .
