Inaugurated on 22nd July 2016, and owned & operated by the MSFA (Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority), the U.S. Bank Stadium is situated in the heart of Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. With a capacity of 66,200 seats at 1.7 million square feet, it is a multi-purpose stadium and the new home to the Minnesota Vikings. It is embellished with ultra-modern facilities and is ideal for hosting national and international programs or events. It is a replacement of Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. The stadium also serves as a perfect venue to host concerts and conventions.

Trivia

It has a transparent roof with its size spanning up to 240,000 square feet. Infact, its roof is the largest ETFE (ethylene-tetra-fluoro-ethylene) roof in the United States of America.

Significance

The inauguration ceremony of the U.S. Bank Stadium was held on July 22, 2016.
After various rounds of meetings and voting by the owners of all 32 NFLs, the National League awarded Super Bowl LII to U.S. Bank Stadium Minneapolis, Minnesota in May 2014.
As per the announcement made in July 2016, the Summer X Games 2017 will be hosted by U.S. Bank Stadium.
The stadium was chosen in 2014 to conduct the NCAA Men’s Final Four in 2019.
The concerts of Luke Bryan and Metallica attracted a huge crowd in the stadium in August 2016.
