Nanjing Olympic Sports Center

The Nanjing Olympic Sports Centre is a large multi-sports complex located in Nanjing Hexi New City and spread across an area of 89.6 hectares (it has a total construction area of around 400,000 square meters). The construction of the center began in January 2002 and was opened to the spectators on 1st of May 2005. The arena was exquisitely designed by the well-known architectural firm Populous (formerly known as HOK Sport). Two massive arches ribbon-like structures stand bent over the stadium visually strengthening the stadium with bright red colour. These structures are 362m long and are in contrast with the stadium’s concrete and glass structure. The center includes roughly 61,000-seat main stadium, approximately 13,000 seater Grand Gymnasium, 4,000 seater FINA standards Aquatic Complex, 4,000 seater Tennis Center, 23,000 square meters sports technology/news centre and a range of outdoor recreational and sporting facilities.

The stadium hosted events during the 2005 National Games of China and the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics. It was also the home ground of Jiangsu F.C. from 2007 until the club's dissolution in 2021.
