Dasarath Rangasala Stadium was built in 1956, which is a multipurpose stadium in Tripureshwar, Kathmandu, and also known as Kathmandu Stadium. With a capacity of 15,000, it is the largest stadium in Nepal. It is named after Dasharath Chand, one of the four great martyrs of Nepal. The stadium is often used for football matches and cultural and entertainment events. It was renovated in 1998 to host the 1999 South Asian Games. It was redone again in 2011, to host the 2012 AFC Challenge Cup. As the largest stadium in Nepal, Dasarath Stadium has hosted many important events. The 2012 AFC Challenge Cup and the 2013 SAFF Championship were held here, along with the Halchowk Stadium. The Three-Star Club is the tenant of the stadium. Floodlights have been installed to facilitate games and events at night. Most national and international sporting events in Nepal are held in this stadium. The Martyr Memorial League, the main football division of Nepal, is also held every year on this ground.
