The Caesars Palace is an AAA Four Diamond luxury hotel and casino, situated in Paradise, Nevada, United States. Jay Sarno (an American hotelier) established the Hotel Caesars Palace that was opened to customers on 5th August 1966 and underwent multiple renovations in between 1974- 2015. The Caesars Entertainment Corporation owns the casino and hotel. The exterior and interior of the hotel is designed with a Roman theme and includes statues, columns, and iconography that remind us of the Roman empire. It is one of the most well-known and respected casino hotels in the world, regarded as Las Vegas’ biggest landmark today. The Harrah's Entertainment became the owner of the Caesar’s Palace in June 2005.Â
Significance
- The legendary fight between Larry Holmes and Muhammad Ali was held in the Caesar’s Palace in October 1980.
- The Caesars Palace Grand Prix car race (which was a Formula one World Championship event) was held in the parking space of Caesar’s Palace in 1981 and 1982.
- Caesars Palace witnessed the "The Super Fight" boxing match between Sugar Ray Leonard and Marvin Hagler in April 1987.
- The pre-season game between the New York Rangers and Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL) was held here in 1991.
- The Evander Holyfield vs. Michael Moorer match took place in the Caesar’s Palace in April 1994.
- WCW Clash of the Champions XXX was held here in January 1995.
- It hosted a round of the Stadium Super Trucks on 7th November 2013.
