Bankers Life Fieldhouse, formerly called the Conseco Fieldhouse, is an indoor arena, located in Indianapolis, USA. This arena was opened in 1999 as a replacement of Market Square Arena. It was primarily built for Basketball and is the home stadium for the National Basketball Association's 'Indiana Pacers' and Women's National Basketball Association's 'Indiana Fever'. This arena has a seating capacity close to 18,000 for Basketball matches and 19,000 for concerts.
Significance
- Bankers Life Fieldhouse arena has hosted the Big Ten Conference Men's Basketball in 2002, 2004, 2006, and from 2008-2012.
- Big Ten Conference Women's Basketball tournament has been conducted here 12 times in 13 years.
- After the 2006 Ultimate Sports Road Trip, this arena was reconfirmed as the No.1 arena and was also honored as the "best of the best" of the four major sports league venues.
- It was the venue for the three games of the 2000 NBA finals.
- This arena has also been the home for the Arena Football team "Indiana Firebirds" from 2001 to 2004.
- In 2009, the Banker arena hosted two WNBA finals where Phoenix Mercury defeated the Indiana Fever in the first one while the second one was won by Indiana Fever over Minnesota Lynx.
- Built Ford Tough Series Bull Riding tour was held here for the first time in January 2011.
- The arena has hosted a few concerts, featuring top artists and bands such as Coldplay, Katy Perry, Paul McCartney, and The Lumineers.
- The World Wrestling Entertainment has conducted numerous RAW and Smack-down episodes in this arena.
- In 2015, a dirt track was created in the arena to host the midget car racing and outlaw kart racing for the Indy Invitational event.
- Multiple Pay per View events have also been hosted in this arena including "Sin" (2001), "The Great American Bash" (2006), "Summer Slam" (2008), "Survivor Series" (2012), and "Clash of Champions" (2016).
