The Auto Club Speedway (formerly known as the California Speedway) is a 3 km, D-shaped oval superspeedway, located at Cherry Avenue in Fontana, California, near the former location of Ontario Motor Speedway and Riverside International Raceway. Construction of this speedway began in 1995 and was completed by late 1996.The International Speedway Corporation owns the track. It has a total capacity of 68,000 with 28 skyboxes. In 2004, lights were added to the speedway and a fan zone behind the main grandstand in 2006. The racetrack has been hosting the NASCAR racing since 1997 and witnessed the IndyCar series in between 2002 to 2005.
