On October 13, 2013, when the Chiefs were playing against Oakland Raiders, the crowd set a Guinness World Record by shouting at 137.5 dB. The Seattle Seahawks fans broke that record on December 2, 2013, by reaching a noise level of 137.6 dB. The Chiefs' fanatics again claimed the title on September 29, 2014, by reaching a noise level of 142.2 dB in this stadium.
Located in the city of Kansas, Missouri, United States, Arrowhead Stadium is a football stadium that serves as the home ground of the Kansas City Chiefs that plays in the National Football League (NFL). The stadium is counted under the Truman Sports Complex. It has a total capacity of 76,416. Its construction was completed in 1972, and in 1994, the Astroturf was replaced by natural grass playing surface. The stadium again went through a renovation in 2010. It is the 28th largest stadium in North America and also the sixth largest among the NFL stadiums.
Significance
- The stadium conducted the Pro Bowl (All- Star game of NFL) on January 20, 1974, where AFC Beat NFC by 15–13.
- It has hosted the Drums Corps International World Championships in 1988 and 1989.
- The stadium has witnessed five Big 12 Conference Football Championships in between 2000-2008.
- From 2007-2011, it hosted the Border Showdown (Border Showdown- Rivalry between the athletic teams of University of Kansas and University of Missouri) between Kansas Jayhawks and Missouri Tigers.
- The stadium has also hosted football matches between Iowa State Cyclones and Kansas State Wildcats in 2009 and 2010.
- It hosted the annual Fall Classic (a Division II game), held between Northwest Missouri State University and Pittsburg state University.
- On July 25, 2010, Kansas City Wizards played a friendly match with Manchester United in the stadium. Kansas City Wizards defeated Manchester United by 2-1.
