Skeleton - Helmet

Skeleton helmets are an essential piece of equipment. The helmets act as a safety guard for the head, neck and face. The manufacturers use high tech plastic composition to provide firm protection to the athlete. In some cases, the helmets are produced with a visor in order to protect players’ eyes from any injury.  

Standard Skeleton Helmets 

As per the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation, here are the specifications of skeleton helmets: 

• Abiding with ECE, DOT or OKM safety standards, all athletes must wear face helmets during race runs and training heats. 
• The helmets shouldn’t have aerodynamic elements in them.
