Military World Games

The Military World Games is an Olympic-style multi-sport event for military sportspeople, organized by the International Military Sports Council (CISM). There are two categories of events that take place in Military World Games known as Summer Games and Winter Games. Both men and women participate in different sports involved in these Games.

• Summer Games- The first edition of Summer Games was held in the year 1995 in Rome, Italy, held from 4th September to 16th September in which around 4,000 athletes from 93 nations compete in 17 different sports events. The Games have been organized in every 4 years. The objective of introduction of such games was to promote the feeling of friendship & bring peace amongst the army personnel of different nations. 
• Winter Games- The first edition of Winter Games has been recently organized by the Italian region of Aosta Valley in the year 2010. A total of 6 sports had been conducted in the first winter edition. Russia has been the most successful country to have won the maximum number of medals in both Summer and Winter Games.
