The final event of the 24th European Archery Championship was held in front of the Nottingham Council House at Nottingham.

The European Archery Championships is an international level archery competition, held in the entirety of Europe in every two years. It is majorly an outdoor archery championship. Indoor archery division has been added recently.

Outdoor Archery Championships – The first event was held in the year 1968 at the city of Reutte in Austria.
Indoor Archery Championships – The event was started from the year 2008 at the city of Jaén in Spain.

Competition Format

The European Archery Championship is a modern archery sport. The World Archery Federation governs the modern competitive archery.
Participants perform in two categories: Seniors and Juniors. The players aged below 18 compete in junior level.
The competition can be held both indoors and outdoors.
There is a specific distance for indoors competition while for outside, it may vary. There are two sets of rules according to the rounds performed: the Metric Rounds ( World Archery rules) and the Imperial Rounds (Grand National Archery Society rules).
The inner ring is termed as the "X ring". The competitor who shot closest to the X ring wins. Archers score each end and their scores are calculated by summing their arrow’s score.
An arrow that has just touched a scoring boundary line called the "Line Breaker" or "Line Cutter" is given the higher point.
