The BWF Super Series was launched on 14th December 2006 and implemented in 2007. It is a series of elite badminton tournaments, approved by the BWF (Badminton World Federation). A season of Super Series consists of twelve tournaments that are held around the world and are listed as Super Series Premier. From 2011, the Super Series includes two levels of competition: Super Series and Super Series Premier.
