The Premier Tournaments is a part of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) tour. It has been conducted since the year 2009. Since 2017, the Premier events are held according to the following categories:
- Premier Mandatory events (4) – The prize money is $4.5 million and the winner of the event is awarded 1000 points. It is held in Madrid, Beijing, Indian Wells and Key Biscayne.
- Premier Five events (5) – The prize money for this event is $2 million and the winner is awarded 900 points. It is held in Rome, Wuhan, Dubai, Toronto/Montreal, and Cincinnati.
- Premier Events (12) – The prize money is $600,000 to $1,000,000 and the winner of this event is awarded 470 points.
- The WTA Premier Tournament Year – The Year-End Championship was first held in the year 2009 in Doha. It was won by Serena Williams.
