The World Silambam Association (WSA) is the official international body of Silambam. It works with the Ministry of Home Affairs (JPPM) in Malaysia to preserve and rejuvenate the traditional art and cultural content within silambam. In October 1999, the association was founded by Guruji Murugan Chillayah. The association plays a significant role in the organisation of major silambam events.
