The World Dance Council (WDC) is the legal governing body of the International Council of Ballroom Dancing (ICBD), founded in Edinburgh. The council conducts international events along with World DanceSport Committee. It has the British Dance Council as its registered member. It also regulates various dancing organization such as the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. The council organizes various national competitions and has its ranking system.
