The National Hot Rod Association (N.H.R.A.) is the governing body of drag racing. The organization conducts drag racing events, especially in the United States and Canada. The organization was founded in 1951 by Wally Parks to promote drag racing and also regulates the use of various safety devices during the race. The N.H.R.A. organized the first national championship in Great Bend, Kansas in 1955.
