FIS is the international governing body to maintain the regulations at international competitions and promote winter sports. At present, the federation has 118 national member associations that effort for the development of skiing and maintain all the respective regulations of all related disciplines.
Initially, the association was founded back on 18th of February 1910 by a group of 22 delegates which was formally known as International Ski Federation (FIS) during the first Winter Games of Olympics where 14 member nations participated.test
