The International Federation of Association Football, or FIFA, is an international governing body of association football and its other forms. It is also the organisation that founded and organises world cup matches in football.
FIFA was founded in 1904 with its eight founding members being Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
Although it doesn't control the rules of association football, it does withhold the responsibility for organising and promoting several major football tournaments. It also generates and keeps a massive revenue by sponsoring major football tournaments.
