International Cricket Council

ICC i.e., the International Cricket Council is the highest governing body of cricket, founded in 1909 as the Imperial Cricket Conference by the representatives of England, Australia and South Africa. Its headquarters is situated in Dubai. The name was changed as the International Cricket Conference in 1965 and later on to International Cricket Council 1989. All the major international tournaments including the Cricket World Cup are governed by ICC that also appoints officials to preside in all international matches and promulgates the codes of conducting the sport at international level. It has a total of 104 members amongst which 12 are full members and 92 associate members. However, it doesn't govern or control the bilateral fixtures or domestic tournaments of member nations.
