On 20th June 1904, The Association Internationale des Automobile Clubs Reconnus (AIACR) was found in Paris as an association of some national motor clubs with a prime aim to create standard rules for motorsports and to govern the motorsports events all around the world. In 1922, the AIACR delegated the association to Commission Sportive Internationale with a command to set and look over the rules and regulations of international Grand Prix motor racing. Post the Second World War, AIACR was renamed to Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile. The association, later on, categorise motorsports including the Formula One and Two and conducted the first world championship in 1950. After the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix, FIA created Expert Advisory Safety Committee to analyse and work more on the safety concerns of drivers in motorsports. The committee worked with the Motor Industry Research Association. Later on, it also founded a car safety programme, the European New Car Assessment Programme.
