Vijender Singh's most-awaited fight is scheduled on March 19 at a Rooftop Deck of Ship in Goa

Indian professional boxer Vijender Singh’s next fight, his first since November 2019, against an as a yet-to-be-announced opponent will take place in Goa on the rooftop of a docked ship on March 19.

Vijender, the defending WBO Oriental and WBO Asia Pacific Super Middleweight Champion defeated Ghana’s former Commonwealth Champion Charles Adama in Dubai for his 12th consecutive victory in November 2019. Since then, he has not participated in competitions.

Vijender’s organisers IOS Boxing Promotions, said: “The undefeated professional boxing star Vijender Singh is set to return to the ring on March 19th ... The first fight of its kind will take place on the rooftop deck of Majestic Pride Casino Ship used as a venue partner.“

The venue, Majestic Pride, is a ship docked on the Mandovi River in Panaji, Goa.

“The fight goes beyond the traditional norms of a regular pro match and offers viewers the glitz and glamour of Vegas-style boxing. Vijender’s rival will be announced soon.” organisers added.

Vijender said: “This is something that has never happened before in India, and I am delighted to be part of this unique professional event. I am thrilled and, as always, eager to enter the ring again, and I have been training hard to keep myself in shape for the fight”.

IOS Boxing Promotions’ Neerav Tomar said: “A boxing match on a ship is the perfect amalgamation of the intensity of boxing and razzmatazz of the entertaining casino. We hope that all fans who watch or attend the venue will enjoy the event thoroughly.”
