Uttar Pradesh batsman Tanmay Srivastava, who was India’s leading run-scorer of the U-19 Cricket World Cup 2008 bids adieu to the sport at the age of 30. He has hung his boots from all forms of cricket to focus on his new dreams and bigger aspirations.
"It’s time to bid adieu to my cricketing playing career! I’ve built memories, made friends, achieved the best I could in these years playing Junior Cricket, Ranji Trophy and most importantly being a good performer in U-19 World Cup,2008 and bringing the cup home with the team" Tanmay wrote in his Twitter statement.
This left-handed batsman scored 262 runs at an average of 52.40 in six matches at the 2008 World Cup and emerged as India’s highest run-getter in the tournament. He has also played for Uttarakhand in first-class cricket, scored 4918 runs in 90 matches and captained the team as well.
