UFC Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov announces retirement, tributes pour in
UFC great Khabib Nurmagomedov registered a perfect victory by defending his lightweight title at the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 254 in Abu Dhabi and surprised everyone by announcing his retirement. After defeating the interim champion Justin Gaethje, the emotional champion said -
"Today I want to say this is my last fight. No way am I coming here without my father. When UFC comes to me about Justin I spoke with my mother for three days. She didn't want me to fight without father and I said this is my last fight - and I have given her my word."
Khabib, one of the best MMA fighters in the world, is retired with a perfect 29-0 career record and 13-0 UFC record.
