Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju announced the 2nd edition of Fit India Cyclothon via Twitter on Monday. The mega-cycling event, which began on Monday, will run for 25 days until December 31st.

The event will be held in each district across the country. People can sign up and participate in the Fit India website, cycling a certain distance every day, and sharing their images and videos on Twitter by tagging Fit India's official Twitter handle — @FitIndiaOff and with these hashtags — #FitIndiaCyclothon and #NewIndiaFitIndia.

Rijiju encouraged people to participate in large-scale events as he tweeted, “Cycling is a great way to stay fit & reduce carbon footprints. I invite all of you to the 2nd Fit India Cyclothon with your family & friends from Dec 7-31. Let’s join the clarion call of PM Narendra Modi Ji ‘Fitness Ka Dose Aadha Ghanta Roz’ #NewIndiaFitIndia #FitIndiaMovement.”

The Minister of Sports launched the inaugural edition of the "Fit India Cyclothon" in Panaji, Goa in January 2020. The purpose of this event is to allow people to participate in outdoor activities and to promote bicycle culture across the country. It saw more than 35 lacks cyclists from all over the country that participated in the event.
