IJF Grand Slam 2020: Indian judo team to travel to Hungary, Government to bear cost

The Indian Judo team is all set to travel Budapest to participate in the IJF Grand Slam 2020 from October 23 to 26. The entire trip’s cost will be funded by the Sports Authority of India (SAI). The Indian team having 5 judokas, three men and two women players will board on October 19 to participate. Meanwhile, the players have to submit a minimum of two COVID-19 negative medical certificates (PCR based test of maximum five days before and tested 48 hours apart) as they arrive in the host country, Hungary.

The women team has 25 years old Sushila Devi (48 kg) hailing from Manipur along with Tulika Mann (78 kg) from Delhi. The men’s team has former Olympian 28-years-old Avtar Singh (100 kg), 22-year-old Jasleen Singh Saini (66 kg) and 24-year-old Vijay Yadav (60 kg). Coach Jiwan Sharma will accompany the team.
