Deepika Kumari, the Commonwealth Games gold medalist and former World No.1 archer, feels that women archers have to face a daunting task to secure their full quota for the next year’s Olympic tournament due to the cancelling of this year’s event. The Indians have only one tournament left to qualify for the Tokyo Games and have two spots to earn. The team has already failed to secure the team quota in the World Championships last year and is now looking for their last shot to bag the full Olympic quota. Deepika also pointed out that even after winning gold in the Asian Continental Qualification tournament in Bangkok last year and being a two time Olympian, she has never been a part of the Olympics opening ceremony.
